Performance Reports

Accelerating Application Performance on Virtual Machines

This performance test was conducted to demonstrate three key points:

1. On a physical server, using FlashSoft to establish a cache on an SSD installed in the server can remove the IO bottleneck between server and storage, enabling an OLTP workload against MS-SQL Server to be accelerated to more than 5x the baseline performance.
2. FlashSoft can accelerate the same OLTP workload, even in a virtual machine, and the acceleration is comparable to performance increases demonstrated on physical servers.
3. FlashSoft can use a single SSD (or multiple SSDs in RAID configuration) to accelerate the OLTP workload on multiple VMs running on the same physical server, with comparable performance enhancement.

In this ProductScope Report, Concentrated Technology - an independent IT consultancy - validated FlashSoft's performance test methodology. Testing FlashSoft with Standard IO Benchmarks

Because many standard IO benchmark tools produce uniformly distributed data to test IO performance, no data blocks are "hotter" than any other, so these tests generally don't provide a good demonstration of the capabilities of a caching solution However, even using these standard tools, it's possible to get some insights into FlashSoft SE.
