FlashSoft SE for Linux

FlashSoft SE 2.0 for Linux employs any standard SATA, SAS or PCIe SSD to accelerate the performance and scalability of applications on servers. FlashSoft SE for Linux will be available for evaluation and purchase in Q4 2011.

Performance Impact

Running enterprise applications with substantial workloads on databases such as Oracle or MySQL on Linux, FlashSoft typically increases performance between 3x and 5x. At the same time, the number of concurrent users and/or operations may be doubled or tripled.

Future support for SUSE/openSUSE 11.3+

SSD Hardware:

FlashSoft runs on any standard SSD or flash PCIe.

  • Minimum cache size: 8GB
  • Maximum cache size: 1TB

The optimal cache size depends on the amount of data on the disks being accelerated, the applications running on the server, and the peak utilization. Please consult a FlashSoft representative to discuss the optimal SSD for your needs.

Server Memory & CPU

  • Memory utilization: 150MB
  • Recommended CPU: Dual core or greater
  • CPU utilization: 3% - 5%

Pricing and Availability

Pricing is based on number and size of SSDs employed. FlashSoft SE 2.0 for Linux is available in Q4 2011 for evaluation and purchase.
