Ted Sanford, CEO & Founder
Ted has over twenty years of experience in high tech start-up sales, business development and strategic alliances. As CEO of Baccel, Ted had responsibility for planning and executing against all corporate goals. In his position as VP Business Development at Infravio (acquired by webMethods) he created and managed reseller relationships with IBM and BEA. As VP Business Development at Confluent (acquired by Oblix), he managed the BEA, TIBCO, Netegrity and Oblix relationships. While VP Strategic Alliances at AppStream (acquired by Symantec), Ted established and managed relationships with CA, Sun, IBM and Microsoft, delivering the majority of corporate revenue. As founder and VP Business Development at 3Cube (acquired by Oracle), Ted was instrumental in OEM relationships with Qwest and Netscape. Ted earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and his Juris Doctorate degree from San Francisco Law School.
Serge Shats, CTO & Founder
Serge has more than 25 years’ experience in system software development, storage management, storage virtualization and data protection. Serge was CTO at Baccel where he was responsible for the company’s technical strategy including continuous data protection, on-disk backup and IO acceleration. He developed the kernel portion of Baccel's software. Serge worked for seven years at VERITAS, developing enterprise-class SAN appliances, distributed software, fault tolerant systems and data protection solutions. Serge was a part of the Advanced Technology Group that developed strategic plans for the company’s future technology. Serge also worked at Quantum, designing technologies for hard drive performance acceleration and hard drive behavior simulation. Serge earned his PhD in Computer Science from Institute of Informatics Problems at the Russian Academy of Science, Moscow, Russia.
Tom Critser, VP Sales and Alliances
Tom has twenty years of experience launching and growing enterprise software companies and managing large direct and reseller channels. Tom was previously VP of World Wide Sales at Infravio, the premier SOA management software company acquired by Software AG (webMethods). Before joining Infravio, Tom was a founding partner and VP of Sales at TriStep Systems, the first hosted consultant management and procurement software company, later acquired by eWork. Most recently Tom was VP of Sales and Business Development at RNA, the Memory Virtualization Software company. RNA provides data center software allowing customers to create virtual memory resources across commodity servers. Tom earned his BS in Marketing and International Business from Oregon State University.
Rich Petersen, VP Marketing
Rich has more than fifteen years’ experience in enterprise software marketing and strategy. Rich was previously VP of Marketing at LogicBlaze, a provider of open source middleware and SOA solutions (acquired by IONA Technologies). As VP of Product Marketing at Infravio, Rich helped launch the pioneering developer of Web Services and SOA solutions. Rich was also a startup executive with Interwoven, an early leader in Web content management, where he built the company’s original marketing team from the ground up, and led the company’s marketing effort. Rich also worked at Insignia Solutions, where he led product management and distribution for Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Rich earned his BA in Linguistics from Michigan State University and his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California.
